Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies are, what cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let the site remember things about you and your visit — language preferences, login state, what's in your cart, that kind of thing. "Similar technologies" includes things like local storage and tracking pixels.
2. Categories of cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential for the website to function. They handle things like load balancing, security tokens, and remembering your cookie preferences. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies because the site won't work without them.
2.2 Performance & analytics
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website — which pages are most popular, where users come from, what the typical journey looks like. Data is aggregated and anonymised. We use this to improve the website.
2.3 Functional
These cookies remember choices you make (such as preferred language or region) to provide a more personalised experience.
2.4 Marketing
These cookies are used to track visitors across websites and display relevant ads. They are typically set by advertising partners with our permission. We only set marketing cookies if you have explicitly consented.
3. Specific cookies we set
The following is a non-exhaustive list of cookies you may encounter on our website. Names and providers may change as we update our tooling — refer to your browser's cookie inspector for the current set.
- cookie_consent — strictly necessary. Stores your cookie preferences. 12-month lifespan.
- PHPSESSID — strictly necessary. Maintains your session across page loads. Session-only.
- _ga, _ga_* — analytics (Google Analytics). Anonymises visitor counts. 2-year lifespan.
- _fbp — marketing (Meta). Set when consent is granted. 3-month lifespan.
- _lc — marketing (LinkedIn). Set when consent is granted. 30-day lifespan.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties (analytics providers, embedded video players, advertising platforms). Those parties control their own cookies and have their own privacy policies. Where applicable we list them above. Disabling them at the third-party level may affect parts of the website.
5. Managing your preferences
You can manage cookies in several ways:
- Cookie banner — when you first visit, the banner lets you accept or reject categories. You can re-open the preferences at any time via the link in the footer.
- Browser settings — every major browser lets you view, delete, and block cookies. Search your browser's help for "manage cookies".
- Opt-out tools — for advertising cookies, you can use industry-wide opt-outs at youronlinechoices.eu (EU) or optout.aboutads.info (US).
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There's no industry consensus on how to respond, so we currently do not change our cookie behaviour based on DNT. We will revisit this as standards evolve.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as we adopt new tools or as the law evolves. The "last updated" date at the top indicates the current version.
